# Presenter console

Press **S**: a second window opens with the current slide, the next one, the speaker notes (rendered
Markdown), a timer and the estimated duration of the deck. Both windows stay in sync, slide by slide
and step by step. Notes are written with `:::notes`, see
[Notes & steps](/documentation/writing/notes-and-steps).
